Setting Up Your Athlete Profile

A complete walkthrough for building a standout player profile that gets you noticed.

Your PlayerAid profile is your digital identity as an athlete. A complete, accurate profile increases your visibility to coaches, recruiters, and opportunities that match your sport and skill level.

Why Profile Completeness Matters

PlayerAid's opportunity network surfaces athlete profiles to coaches and programs based on profile data. Athletes with incomplete profiles are less likely to appear in searches. Take 10 minutes to fill everything in — it makes a real difference.

Profile Sections Overview

Basic Information

Start with the essentials:

  • Name — your full legal name as it appears on school or sports documents
  • Date of birth — used for age-group matching and recruiting eligibility
  • Bio — 2–4 sentences about who you are as an athlete. Mention your sport, position, key achievements, and what you're working toward
  • Profile photo — use a clear, well-lit headshot. Avoid action shots for your main photo; save those for the gallery

Contact & Location

  • Phone number — optional, but allows coaches to reach you directly
  • Address — city and state are sufficient for most use cases; full address is only needed if your team sends physical mail

Sports & Athletics

This is the most important section for recruiting visibility.

For each sport you play:

  1. Tap Add Sport
  2. Select your sport from the list
  3. Choose your position(s)
  4. Set your skill level (Recreational, Competitive, Elite)
  5. Enter years of experience
  6. Add your jersey number if applicable

Tip: Be accurate with your skill level. Overstating it leads to mismatched opportunities.

Performance Metrics

Once you've added a sport, PlayerAid unlocks sport-specific stat fields. For example:

  • Football: 40-yard dash, bench press, vertical jump, shuttle time
  • Basketball: height, wingspan, vertical, shooting percentages
  • Baseball/Softball: fastball velocity, batting average, fielding position
  • Soccer: positions, dominant foot, sprinting speed
  • Golf: handicap index, average drive distance

Enter the stats you have. Leave fields blank rather than guessing — coaches trust profiles with honest, verifiable numbers.

Physical Attributes

  • Height and weight — standard fields used by most recruiting profiles
  • Sizing — hat, shoe, top, and bottom sizes are used by brand partners and sponsors

Achievements

List significant accomplishments:

  • All-conference or all-state selections
  • Tournament placements
  • Records you hold
  • Awards (MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, etc.)

Keep descriptions concise — one line per achievement is enough.

Connect your public Instagram, YouTube, or highlight reel. Coaches often check these to see you in action. Make sure linked accounts are set to public or viewable without login.

Food Allergies

If PlayerAid is used to coordinate team meals or travel, you can add food allergies here. This information is shared with your team coaches and co-managers.

Checking Your Profile Completeness

From the Profile tab, look for the completeness indicator. Tapping it shows exactly which sections are incomplete and lets you jump directly to them.
