PlayerAid accounts are free to create. All you need is a smartphone and a valid email address.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following ready:
- A smartphone running iOS 14+ or Android 9+
- A valid email address you have access to
- About 2–3 minutes to complete setup
Step 1: Download the App
Download PlayerAid from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Search for "PlayerAid" or find the download links at playeraid.org.
Step 2: Tap "Sign Up"
Open the app and tap Sign Up on the welcome screen. If you already have an account, tap Sign In instead.
Step 3: Enter Your Details
Fill in the registration form:
- First and last name — shown on your profile and team rosters
- Email address — used to log in and receive important notifications
- Password — minimum 8 characters; use a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols for security
- Account type — choose Athlete, Coach, or Business
Not sure which account type to pick? See Understanding Account Types for a full comparison.
Step 4: Verify Your Email
After submitting the form, PlayerAid sends a 6-digit verification code to your email. Enter it in the app to confirm your address.
If the email doesn't arrive within 2 minutes:
- Check your spam or junk folder
- Tap Resend Code in the app
- Make sure you entered your email address correctly
Step 5: Complete Your Profile
Once verified, you'll be guided through a short profile setup. You can finish this now or skip and return later from the Profile tab.
Tip: A complete profile dramatically increases your recruiting visibility. Coaches and opportunities are more likely to engage with athletes who have full profiles including a photo, sports, and stats.
Common Questions
Can I sign up with Google or Apple? Not currently. PlayerAid uses email and password authentication. Social sign-in is planned for a future update.
What if I forget my password? On the login screen, tap Forgot Password, enter your email, and follow the reset link sent to your inbox.
Can I change my account type later? Yes. Go to Settings → Account and request a type change. Some features are account-type specific, but your profile data is preserved.
Can I have both an athlete and coach profile? Yes. PlayerAid supports multiple roles on a single account. You can switch between Athlete and Coach views using the role selector in the app.
