Understanding Account Types

PlayerAid offers three account types designed for different roles in the athletic ecosystem. Your account type determines which features you can access. You can hold multiple roles on a single account.

Athlete Account

Designed for individual athletes who want to showcase their abilities, join teams, and connect with opportunities.

What you can do:

• Build a detailed player profile with sport-specific stats and performance metrics
• Join teams by accepting invitations from coaches
• RSVP to team practices, games, and events
• Pay team expenses through the app
• Share a QR player card to make your profile discoverable
• Browse and book training sessions in the Marketplace
• Use the AI assistant to improve your profile and answer questions

Best for: Players of any age and skill level who want to be seen by coaches, programs, and brands.

Coach Account

Designed for coaches, trainers, and team administrators who manage players and run programs.

What you can do, in addition to all Athlete features:

• Create and manage sports teams with full roster control
• Invite athletes via link or QR code
• Schedule practices, games, and events with location mapping
• Create and collect team expenses from players
• Add co-managers to share administrative access
• Create Managed Player profiles for athletes without app accounts
• List your training services in the Marketplace
• Connect Stripe to receive payments for sessions

Best for: Coaches at any level — youth leagues, high school, club sports, private training.

Business Account

Designed for sports organizations, academies, facilities, and service-based businesses.

What you can do, in addition to all Coach features:

• Create and manage multiple teams under one organization
• Access enhanced Marketplace analytics and booking tools
• Build a branded provider profile for your organization
• Manage multiple service listings and service categories
• Run team programs with bulk invite and roster tools

Best for: Sports academies, training facilities, multi-team organizations, and sports-related businesses.

Switching Account Types

You can change your account type at any time from Settings → Account → Account Type. Your existing profile data, teams, and history are preserved when you switch. Some features may become unavailable or newly available depending on the change.

Multiple Roles

PlayerAid supports multiple roles on a single account. For example, you can be an athlete on one team and a coach managing another. Use the role selector in the top navigation to switch between your active roles without logging out.

If you're a parent creating an account to manage your child's profile, create a Coach account — Managed Player profiles are created from within Coach accounts.
