The schedule is where your team's calendar lives. Create practices, games, meetings, and any other events — PlayerAid notifies your entire roster automatically.
Creating an Event
- Go to your team and tap Schedule
- Tap + Add Event
- Fill in the event details:
Required Fields
- Title — e.g., "Practice", "Home vs. Riverside", "Film Session"
- Date and Start Time — use the date/time picker
- Event Type — Practice, Game, Scrimmage, Meeting, Film, Other
Optional Fields
- End Time — if the event has a fixed end
- Location — tap Add Location to search and pin an address using the map
- Opponent — for games and scrimmages, enter the opposing team's name
- Notes — add any relevant details for players (what to bring, parking info, dress code)
- Tap Save Event
PlayerAid sends a push notification to all team members immediately.
Adding a Location
Tap Add Location to open the map search:
- Type an address, venue name, or landmark
- Select the correct result from the suggestions
- The location is pinned with GPS coordinates so players can tap it to open directions in Maps
Tip: Always add a location for away games and unfamiliar venues. Players can tap the location to get turn-by-turn directions without leaving the app.
Recurring Events
For regular practices or weekly meetings, use recurring events instead of creating them one at a time:
- When creating or editing an event, tap Repeat
- Select frequency: Daily, Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly
- Set the repeat end date or number of occurrences
- Tap Save
All occurrences are created at once and appear on the team schedule. Editing one occurrence gives you the option to update just that event or all future occurrences.
Editing and Canceling Events
To edit an event:
- Tap the event on the schedule
- Tap Edit
- Make your changes and tap Save
Players receive a push notification when an event is updated.
To cancel an event:
- Tap the event → Cancel Event
- Optionally add a cancellation note (e.g., "Practice cancelled due to weather")
Cancelled events remain on the schedule with a "Cancelled" label so players can see the change clearly.
Calendar Sync
Athletes can sync the team schedule to their device's native calendar app:
- Go to Schedule → Sync to Calendar
- Approve the calendar access permission when prompted
- All team events are added to the device calendar and stay in sync
Common Questions
Do players get notified of new events automatically? Yes. Every new event triggers a push notification to all team members who have notifications enabled.
Can players add events to the team schedule? No. Only coaches and co-managers can create, edit, or cancel team events.
What if I need to reschedule a game? Edit the existing event and update the date/time. Players receive a notification about the change. It's better to edit an existing event than cancel it and create a new one — this preserves the RSVP history.
