Managing Notifications

Control which notifications you receive and how they're delivered.

PlayerAid sends notifications for important events — new team events, expense requests, booking confirmations, and messages. Here's how to control exactly what you receive.

Notification Types

PlayerAid sends two kinds of notifications:

Push Notifications — appear on your phone's lock screen or notification center. Sent immediately when something important happens.

In-App Notifications — the bell icon in the top-right of the app. These are always recorded and visible whenever you open the app, regardless of push settings.

Enabling Push Notifications

When you first sign up, the app asks permission to send push notifications. To enable or change this later:

  1. Open your phone's Settings app
  2. Find PlayerAid in the app list
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Toggle notifications on or off, or adjust alert styles

Tip: Even with push notifications disabled, you'll still see all notifications inside the app. Push notifications just let the app reach you when it's closed.

Notification Preferences Within the App

To fine-tune which types of notifications trigger alerts:

  1. Open PlayerAid and go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Toggle individual notification types on or off:

Team Notifications

  • New events and schedule changes
  • Event cancellations
  • RSVP reminders
  • Roster changes (players joining or leaving)

Expense Notifications

  • New expense added by your coach
  • Expense due date reminders
  • Payment confirmation (your payments)
  • Payment received (coaches only)

Marketplace Notifications

  • New booking request (providers)
  • Booking confirmed or cancelled
  • New review received
  • Messages from clients or providers

Account Notifications

  • Team invitations
  • Co-manager invitations
  • Account security alerts (login from new device)
  • Product updates and announcements

Notification Frequency

PlayerAid batches some notification types to avoid overwhelming you. For example, if 10 teammates RSVP to an event in quick succession, you'll receive one summary notification rather than 10 individual ones.

Common Questions

I'm not receiving push notifications even though they're enabled in Settings. Make sure you haven't toggled off push within the app under Settings → Notifications. Also check that your phone isn't in Do Not Disturb mode and that PlayerAid isn't restricted by battery saving settings.

Can I set quiet hours? Not yet within the app, but you can use your phone's built-in focus modes or Do Not Disturb schedule to silence all notifications from PlayerAid during certain hours.

Can coaches see if athletes have notifications turned off? No. Notification settings are private.

Will I still be notified if I uninstall and reinstall the app? Reinstalling the app will prompt you to grant notification permissions again. Your in-app notification preferences are restored from your account.
