Your PlayerAid account contains personal information and financial data. Here's how to keep it secure.
Changing Your Password
To change your password while logged in:
- Go to Settings → Account → Change Password
- Enter your current password
- Enter your new password twice to confirm
- Tap Save
A strong password:
- Is at least 12 characters long
- Includes uppercase and lowercase letters
- Includes at least one number and one symbol
- Is not reused from another service
Resetting a Forgotten Password
On the login screen:
- Tap Forgot Password?
- Enter your account email address
- Check your inbox for a reset email (check spam if it doesn't arrive)
- Tap the link in the email and follow the instructions to set a new password
Reset links expire after 24 hours. If yours expired, request a new one.
Recognizing a Compromised Account
Signs your account may have been accessed by someone else:
- You receive a password reset email you didn't request
- Unexpected changes appear in your profile
- Teams or expenses appear that you didn't create
- You receive login confirmation emails from unfamiliar locations
What to Do If You're Compromised
Act quickly:
- Change your password immediately — follow the steps above
- Check for unexpected changes — review your profile, teams, and expenses for anything unfamiliar
- Contact us — email security@playeraid.org with details. We can review account activity logs and help secure your account
Protecting Your Account
- Never share your password with anyone, including coaches or teammates
- Use a unique password — don't reuse passwords from other sites
- Be cautious on shared devices — always log out when using a public or shared phone or tablet
- Log out of unused devices — from Settings → Account → Active Sessions, you can see and end sessions on other devices
Changing Your Email Address
To update the email address associated with your account:
- Go to Settings → Account → Email
- Enter your new email address and current password
- A verification code is sent to the new email address
- Enter the code to confirm the change
Your old email no longer works as a login credential after this change.
Deleting Your Account
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, team memberships, and personal data (subject to financial record retention requirements). This action cannot be undone.
To delete:
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Read the confirmation details carefully
- Enter your password to confirm
- Tap Delete My Account
If you manage teams or have active marketplace listings, PlayerAid will prompt you to transfer or close those before account deletion can complete.
Contact support@playeraid.org if you need help with the deletion process or want to discuss data export options first.
