Using the AI Assistant

What the PlayerAid AI assistant can do, how to ask good questions, and what to expect.

The PlayerAid AI assistant is a built-in conversational helper that knows your profile, your teams, and the platform. Think of it as a knowledgeable teammate — always available, never too busy to answer.

Accessing the Assistant

Tap the Assistant tab (sparkle icon) in the bottom navigation. The assistant is available 24/7 and responds in seconds.

What the Assistant Can Help With

Platform Navigation

  • "How do I create a recurring practice?"
  • "Where do I see my payment history?"
  • "How do I share my QR player card?"

Profile Improvement

  • "What's missing from my profile?"
  • "What stats should I add for a football recruit?"
  • "How do I write a better bio?"

The assistant can read your current profile and give specific, actionable feedback based on what you've actually filled in.

Team and Schedule Management

  • "Create a note summarizing who hasn't RSVP'd to Tuesday's practice"
  • "What expenses does my team have outstanding?"
  • "Remind me what I scheduled for this weekend"

Recruiting Guidance

  • "What do coaches look for in a wide receiver profile?"
  • "How do I make my profile stand out to Division II programs?"
  • "What stats are most important for basketball recruiting?"

General Sports Questions

  • "What is a 40-yard dash and why does it matter?"
  • "What should I bring to a combine?"
  • "What's a typical training week for an elite high school sprinter?"

Tips for Better Conversations

Be specific. "Help me improve my profile" gets a general answer. "I'm a 16-year-old cornerback targeting D1 — what should I add to my profile?" gets a tailored response.

Provide context. The assistant already knows your profile, but mentioning your goals ("I'm trying to get recruited for fall 2027") gives it the frame to give better advice.

Ask follow-up questions. If an answer isn't quite what you needed, just say so. "That's helpful, but what about for a smaller school?" The assistant maintains conversation context.

Use it to brainstorm. The assistant is great for thinking through options — training priorities, how to approach recruiting outreach, what events to attend.

What the Assistant Cannot Do

It is not a licensed professional. The assistant does not provide medical, legal, financial, dietary, or certified athletic training advice. For those topics, always consult qualified professionals.

It can make mistakes. AI-generated answers can sometimes be inaccurate or outdated. Use your own judgment, especially for high-stakes decisions. See AI Assistant Limitations and Profile Suggestions for more details.

It cannot take actions that change your data without your explicit approval. When it suggests profile edits, those are just suggestions until you confirm them.

Common Questions

Does the assistant remember past conversations? The assistant has context within your current conversation session. Long-term memory across separate sessions is limited — if you need to continue a topic from a previous session, briefly re-establish the context.

Is my conversation private? Yes. Your conversations with the assistant are stored securely and are not shared with other users or coaches. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how AI conversation data is stored and used.

Can the assistant contact coaches or send messages on my behalf? No. The assistant can help you draft messages, but it does not send anything without your action.
